Prevention is the biggest thing we can do and it begins now through May.

  • Check with landscaping specialists or your local nursery before planting .  Plants have varying degrees of ignition points and some are quicker to ignite than others. Visit website
  • Limb up trees and create a buffer zone to meet Butte County Fire Safe Guidelines. For more info visit website
  • Remove any dead plants and ladder fuels.
  • When using machinery that can cause a spark have a fire extinguisher handy.
  • Video tape or take pictures and inventory all items in your home.  Keep a copy of this outside of the home.
