Netbot is what is known as an IRC robot, or bot. It is not a person but a computer program that monitors events in the chatroom and responds in a pre-determined manner to those events. For example, if someone in the chatroom uses a word that we have told Netbot is not allowed, Netbot will respond the first time with a warning and if it happens again Netbot remembers that the same person said a bad word previously and it will kick the offending chatter out of the chatroom. Netbot also has other duties like responding to requests for information about an incident and giving the moderators their "star" when they join the chatroom.

*Note: You may see Netbot appear to talk like a human at times but not to worry, it has not become self-aware. At times we will talk through Netbot when we are working on the server.
