We've heard from many of you during the last month that the Ridge scanner feed has been offline that you miss it. Believe us when we say we want it back online as much as you do. The Ridge scanner feed was unique in the world of online scanning in that every piece of hardware used for the feed, from the server hardware down to the cabling that connected everything together, was professional-grade equipment designed for 24x7x365 operation. No other amateur online scanning site ever came close to matching the uptime or quality of the Ridge scanner feed. Why? A total of over $10,000 of personal funds from the original site owner were used to create this website for the citizens of Butte County to have a reliable, high-quality public safety scanner feed. Your donations during the 2008 firestorms helped us expand into a data center in Dallas, TX so we could host over 10,000 simultaneous connections to our feeds but the scanner and server hardware that encoded the scanner signals was still hosted in a private home.

Unfortunately, the original site owner has moved away from the Ridge and the hardware used to encode and stream the Ridge scanner feed is no longer available. We're doing our best to get the feed back online using hardware that is intended for home/office use. We're confident that it will serve the needs of the Ridge residents temporarily but we would like to implement a more permanent solution that matches the quality and reliability of the original hardware. 

To do that, we need your help. If we can raise $2,000 we will be able to replace the encoding and streaming hardware with a solution that will be on par with the hardware that gave the citizens of the Ridge a reliable scanner feed for over 5 years.
